Nicole Speck is a doctorally-prepared nurse and family nurse practitioner. Her career and clinical practice has been dedicated to serving at-risk, underserved children and adolescents working with the child and adolescent health programs funded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in collaboration with health systems. As the past president of School Community Health Alliance of Michigan, she has been an active participant in promoting state and federal advocacy for children's health issues, access to care concerns, and urging the creation of Health and Human Service funding for School Based Health Center Programs being included in the Affordable Care Act. Her doctorate studies focused on health policy analysis of Meaningful Use, the Affordable Care Act, Michigan's Blueprint for Health Initiatives, and Patient Centered Medical Home programs including Michigan's Primary Care Transformation Project (MiPCT). She is passionate about integrating healthcare transformation across the healthcare continuum, from inpatient hospital and safety net to community programs and resources.
